The $80M cash acquisition my board wouldn't let me take

The $80M cash acquisition my board wouldn't let me take

In January 2021, I hung up  zoom with the CEO of a strategic in our space. He said "we'll get you the offer tonight".

That offer? An $80M cash offer to acquire my company.

It was the moment I dreamed of. We had offers in the past, at lower numbers, that for a million reasons I'll share in other posts, never went through.

Meanwhile revenues kept growing and we kept strengthening the product and brand.

For sure this felt like the right deal. One I wanted to take.

Until I brought it to my board of directors.
